Members of the Verastar team were recently privileged to attend a charity dinner in Manchester in aid of the charity Access Sport.
The charity seeks to make inclusion the norm by tackling the access barriers faced by disadvantaged and disabled young people, focussing on the causes of exclusion—not just the symptoms.
Olympic rowing Gold medallist Greg Searle MBE hosted, with former Olympian and Team GB hockey captain Kate Richardson-Walsh OBE and nine-times BMX and track cycling World Champion Shanaze Reade as guest speakers. Greg comments: “Thanks to everyone at Verastar for supporting Access Sport. It was a great night and I really enjoyed spending some time with you all.”
Guests also heard from Judd, 13, a young person from Salford, whose life has changed for the better through sport.
£15,000 was raised on the night which will provide local disabled and disadvantaged young people with the sporting opportunities they deserve.
Verastar CEO Lee Hull comments: “Well done to the North West team at Access Sport for an engaging, informative and really well organised event.
We’re delighted to be able to offer our support at the Stand for Inclusion Dinner and now look forward to partnering with the charity at future events.”
