Verastar has agreed to support the work of When You Wish Upon a Star, starting with a series of events to raise funds for the Nottingham-based charity.

Verastar has developed a reputation for providing small businesses across the UK with excellent energy and telecoms services. We’ve had a lot of support from the local communities in which we operate, and we like to give back whenever we can by engaging continuously in local charity work.
When You Wish Upon a Star
We’ve now agreed to work with When You Wish Upon a Star. Established in Nottingham, the charity has one mission, to grant the wishes of children living with a life threatening illnesses. The wishes the organisation strive to fulfil “transform the lives of the children and families (they) work with.”
Since 1990, When You Wish Upon a Star has granted more than 16,000 wishes throughout the UK. They also engage in a number of other activities to bring joy to the lives of seriously ill children. They host days-out throughout the year, such as the regular Harry Potter-themed trips on-board the beautiful Belmond Northern Belle train, and excursions to Lapland every December.
Wish Upon a Star Week
We’re proud to announce that Verastar have committed to supporting When You Wish Upon a Star for the next 12 months. We’re officially starting right now, by holding a number of fund raising events for employees to get involved with throughout our ‘Wish Upon a Star Week.’
To start off the week we’re launching a raffle. Employees will be able to buy a ticket for the chance to win some great prizes on Friday. The following day we’re holding The Big Verastar Quiz, where our staff will be tasked with answering some tough trivia questions to win a fabulous prize.
We’re getting our employees involved in Verastar’s World Food Day on Wednesday, and waxing several of our male staff to raise money on Thursday. The week will end with Verastar’s in your eyes; a big fancy dress event where staff will compete to win the title of best dressed star!

Wish Upon a Star Week is just the first step in Verastar’s commitment to support When You Wish Upon a Star. Throughout the next 12 months we’re going to host a series of efforts to raise funds that’ll help the charity make the wishes of children with serious illnesses across the UK come true.
