We’re a charitable bunch here at Verastar and we’re also self-confessed chocoholics. So, when the opportunity to combine two passions came together and donate Easter eggs to the foster kids at Foster Care Association, we hopped at the chance.
The kids at Foster Care Association were happy bunnies on Easter morning when they received their chocolate eggs. We had so many donations from our staff that there were actually too many to give to the kids at FCA. (We’re not fans of giving kids that much sugar!)
So, our Easter bunny shared the remainder of the eggs with lots of other recipients. 180 were sent to the wards of the Manchester Royal Infirmary Children’s Hospital, 100 were sent to a day care and respite centre run by Manchester City Council in Baguley and over 70 were sent to the Starlight Children’s Ward at Wythenshawe hospital.
We also made sure it wasn’t just the kids who got a tasty treat this Easter, so we made our bunny hop along to Ecclesholme, a residential care home in Eccles where people with Huntington’s, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease are looked after.
It’s safe to say our bunny was super busy over the Bank Holiday weekend but we wouldn’t have it any other way. And by the smiles on everyone’s face who got an egg, we’d say they wouldn’t either.
