Read on for an update about the recent visit of MP Mike Kane to Verastar HQ.

We were delighted to welcome Wythenshawe and Sale East MP Mike Kane to our HQ in Sale earlier this week.

Verastar CEO Lee Hull met with Mike to discuss our business and our future direction and strategy.

Mike was interested to learn about our plans to continue recruiting locally as we grow, and our focus on promoting from within, offering long-term career opportunities for colleagues.

Lee gave Mike a full tour of our building, taking in the electric vehicle charging points, the on-site gym, the canteen and the bike sheds (Mike being a keen cyclist and proud Brompton owner!).

Mike was introduced to members of our customer growth, customer service, collections and retentions, and HR teams, as well as colleagues from The Insurance Octopus, which is part of the Verastar Group.

He was given a full briefing on how we deliver a broad range of essential services to small businesses, serving our customers through our different brands.

Mike said: “It was a real eye opener to visit Verastar’s head office. While it’s tucked away and you wouldn’t necessarily know it’s there, it’s a fantastic space with everything geared towards making it a comfortable environment for colleagues and enabling them to do a great job supporting small businesses both locally and across the UK.

“With around 700 people employed in Sale alone, Verastar already makes a huge contribution to the area’s economy and I can tell from speaking to Lee that the business is only going to increase that commitment as time goes by. The rate at which they’re growing the workforce is very impressive”

We’re proud of our roots in this community and alongside our commitment to recruiting locally, we’re dedicated to giving back in other ways too – whether that’s by offering our time, skills or  people-power to support the local community and make a positive impact on those in need of a helping hand.

Working with Mike, we can connect with more local organisations and community leaders to offer more support and continue to make a difference.

Lee Hull commented: “It’s really heartening to meet a local MP who is so supportive of the businesses in his constituency. We’d like to thank Mike for visiting and taking the time to come and understand our business and we look forward to working with him in the future to deliver more jobs and more support for the local area.”
