What you’ll be doing

As the Internal Communications Manager your main responsibility will be to lead and drive the colleague communication agenda for the Verastar Group companies, supporting the engagement and retention of all colleagues, driving improvements to our colleague experience and creating an attractive employer brand.

Your main responsibilities will also include:

  • Create and support the delivery of an integrated colleague communications plan aligned to the Verastar Group companies.
  • Deliver colleague communications activities to support key projects e.g. the Verastar strategy cascade, the digital transformation programme, the review of customer services processes, and the brand review.
  • Deliver key existing colleague communications activities e.g. the weekly V-Connect colleague email or the monthly V-news update from our CEO to all colleagues.
  • Consider all available internal communications channels – such as email, the intranet, an app, SMS, Facebook for Business, social media and vlogs – to ensure we continually optimise and have interactive two-way colleague communications.
  • Build/maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and the leadership team.
  • Work with the wider marketing department to make sure communications reach our colleagues across the Verastar Group in a timely and consistent manner, and that we exploit opportunities to share external messages.
  • Ensure our core values/ tone of voice sit at the heart of all colleague communications.

We’re looking for people that have

  • Previous experience in successfully managing employee communications in a medium to large organisation (essential).
  • Creating company-wide communications strategies to share knowledge, deliver key messages and drive engagement (essential).
  • Previous experience delivering employee communications successfully across a range of channels and media to match the demographics of the colleague base (essential).
  • Evidence of improved employee engagement outcomes and behavioural change following employee communications activity.
  • Experience of working with and influencing senior stakeholders.
